Welcome to the Affirmations Recorder App, owned and operated by Awaken My Life. This privacy policy explains how we handle the personal information we collect in connection with the Affirmations Recorder mobile application (the “Application”) and the services, features, content, or applications we offer (collectively, the “Services”).

When you use the Services, you are consenting to the collection, transfer, manipulation, storage, disclosure, and other uses of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

What Does This Privacy Policy Cover?

This Privacy Policy covers personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”) collected when you use or access the Services. This Privacy Policy also covers our treatment of any Personal Information that our business partners share with us.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that we do not own or control, including but not limited to any third-party websites, services, or applications (“Third Party Services”) that you access through the Services.

What Information Do We Collect And How Do We Use It?

Audio Recordings (User Content):The Application allows you to record affirmations. These recordings are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to our servers.

Log Information:We collect industry-standard data automatically when you use the Application. This may include device type, operating system, app usage, and crash diagnostics. This information helps us improve performance and user experience.

Subscription & Payment Information:We do not collect or store your payment information. All purchases and subscriptions are processed through Apple’s App Store. We may receive limited information from Apple, such as subscription status, to manage your access to premium features.

Personalized Affirmations & AI Generation:The Application and our website include a feature that creates personalized affirmations for you. When you use it, the preferences you provide, such as the focus areas, goals, or intentions you select, are sent to a trusted third-party artificial-intelligence provider (currently Anthropic) to generate the affirmation text. We do not send your audio recordings to the AI provider, and we do not send your name or email address to it for this purpose. The provider processes these inputs solely to return generated text and does not use commercial API data to train its models by default. Under the provider's standard API policy, inputs and outputs are retained for up to 30 days and then deleted; content that its trust and safety systems flag as a possible policy violation may be retained longer where required for safety or legal reasons. We do not store the goal you entered on our servers, and we do not send it to our email provider; it is used only to generate your affirmations. If you choose to have your set emailed to you, or you back it up from the app, we then store the generated affirmations (not the goal) on a private page for about 30 days so you can view and download them, after which it is automatically deleted. If you do not request your set by email, nothing from the quiz is stored on our servers. The goal is free text that may include sensitive personal topics you choose to share, such as recovery goals; you decide what to enter, and you can leave it blank. AI-generated affirmations are produced automatically and may occasionally be inaccurate. They are provided for personal, motivational, and self-improvement support only, and are not therapy, counseling, or medical, psychological, or professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and are not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. If you are struggling or in crisis, please contact a qualified professional or a crisis resource.

Email Address (Optional):If you choose to receive your affirmations, a printable PDF, or our free gift by email, we collect the email address you provide. We use trusted third-party email providers (currently Kit and Resend) to deliver these emails and to send occasional related updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every email, and we do not sell your email address.

Information You Elect to Share:If you choose to share content or interact with third-party services, your information is governed by their privacy policies.

Information Shared with Our Partners

We may share limited information with trusted third-party providers that help us operate the Services, such as analytics and crash-reporting tools, the artificial-intelligence provider that generates your personalized affirmations, and the email-delivery providers that send your affirmations, PDF, or gift. These partners are contractually restricted from using your information for any purpose other than providing these services to us. They are not permitted to sell your information or to use it to train their own models without authorization.

Information Disclosed for Legal Purposes

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our business, users, or others.

Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Accounts and the Move from I AM That I AM

Affirmations Recorder is the new version of the app formerly called I AM That I AM. The current app does not use accounts. You do not create a username or password, and you do not sign in to use it. Your recordings are stored locally on your device.

The earlier I AM That I AM app offered an optional sign-in that used an email address and password to log you in. That sign-in system has been retired and is no longer used to provide the app. Because we no longer need these legacy credentials, we are removing the stored legacy account data, including email addresses and passwords, from our systems.

If you had a legacy account and would like us to delete any remaining information we hold about you, or to confirm that it has been removed, you can request this at any time using the Delete Account link in the footer of this site, or by contacting us at affirmationsrecorder@gmail.com. Deleting the app from your device also removes any data stored locally on that device.

Data Retention

Since we do not require account creation, most data remains on your device. Any limited data we collect (such as analytics) is retained only as long as necessary to operate and improve the Services. If you request your affirmations by email, we store the generated affirmations on a private page so you can view and download them. This page is available for 30 days and is then automatically deleted. We do not store the goal you entered. If you do not request your set by email, nothing from the quiz is stored on our servers. Affirmations cached in the app itself remain on your device until you generate a new set. Legacy account data from the former I AM That I AM sign-in system is being removed, as described in the section above, and is available for deletion on request in the meantime. You can request deletion of any data we hold about you by contacting affirmationsrecorder@gmail.com.

Your Choices

You may choose not to provide certain information, although this may limit functionality. You can also delete the Application at any time, which removes locally stored data from your device.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to request access to or deletion of any personal data we may have about you.

Children’s Privacy (13+)

The Services are intended for users aged 13 and older (13+). Because they include AI-generated content, they are not intended for individuals under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that such information has been collected, we will take steps to delete it.

Data Use Transparency

We do not sell your personal information. The Affirmations Recorder mobile app does not use your data for third-party advertising and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. Our website displays advertising through Google AdSense, as described in the “Advertising & Cookies” section below; this applies to the website only, not the mobile app.

Content Standards and Filtering

Affirmations are intended for positive, personal, and motivational use, including support for recovery, healing, and personal growth around difficult or sensitive topics.

Clinical and non-graphic recovery language may be used when necessary to create meaningful personalized affirmations. This can include references to pornography use, compulsive sexual behavior, masturbation, addiction, substance use, gambling, trauma, grief, anxiety, self-harm recovery, and other personal challenges when the content is clearly focused on safety, healing, personal responsibility, and positive change.

We do not permit graphic or erotic sexual content, content that promotes addiction or harmful behavior, hate, harassment, threats, coercion, objectification, violence, encouragement of self-harm, instructions to harm oneself or another person, or other abusive or dangerous content.

The personalized affirmation feature uses automated filtering and safety controls. Sensitive words are not automatically prohibited when used in a legitimate recovery or self-improvement context. However, content that is graphic, exploitative, threatening, harmful, or unrelated to constructive personal growth may be blocked or removed.

Statements suggesting an immediate risk of self-harm or harm to another person are not processed as ordinary affirmation requests and may receive a safety-focused response encouraging immediate support.

Affirmations Recorder is a personal-growth and wellness tool. It does not provide medical, psychological, psychiatric, or therapeutic advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. The personalized affirmation generator uses AI and automated filtering to keep results positive and non-graphic. You agree not to misuse this feature, including any attempt to bypass, circumvent, or defeat these filters, or to prompt or manipulate the tool into producing explicit, hateful, harmful, or otherwise prohibited content. AI-generated text can occasionally be imperfect, and you are responsible for how you use it.

The app and its AI features are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Affirmations Recorder is not liable for any outcome arising from your use of the affirmations, from content produced by the AI, or from any attempt to misuse or bypass the app’s safety features. You are solely responsible for your use of the app and its output.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Services after changes means you accept the updated policy.

Advertising & Cookies

This website uses Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service provided by Google, to display advertisements. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites.

Where ads appear. Advertising may be shown on our affirmation collection pages and on our articles. Ads are placed in their own clearly labeled areas, separate from the content. We do not insert advertising into the middle of an affirmation collection or in a way that could be mistaken for our own editorial content. The Affirmations Recorder mobile application contains no third-party advertising of any kind. Everything in this section applies to this website only.

How Google uses cookies. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. Third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads on this site and may use cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies to collect information about your visits in order to measure and improve advertising.
